Brunch on The River

For those of you that follow me you know that dining out is one of my favorite things to do. As you can imagine after being quarantined for over 10 weeks I was so excited to finally go out to eat.

Phase 1 was the start of restaurant openings with outside dining only. Some restaurants had to get creative setting up for outside dining during this phase 1, however, The Bridge Restaurant [raw bar] River Patio already had a beautiful riverside dining area established. They also did an amazing job advertising on Facebook with pictures of their food which had me longing to try their Eggs Benedict so I immediately booked a reservation for brunch.

We were the first to arrive and was fortunate to be given the opportunity to select a sunny table alongside the river. I have to hand it to The Bridge for thinking of everything! We were given paper disposable menus, as required, a disposable paper bag to keep our masks clean while we enjoyed breakfast and hand wipes to sanitize before and after. Way to go guys!

Across the river was Donahue Park looking quiet and peaceful. It was a breezy morning but we didn’t care. I sipped a Bloody Mary while watching kayakers and ducks enjoy the water.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t get what I ordered yet had absolutely no complaints! There were three Eggs Benedict options offered on the menu and I couldn’t decided which to order. I wanted a combination of the three and that’s exactly what I got! Spinach, tomato, slab bacon, and although I was interested in the option of having it served over mashed potatoes I was reluctant to try it yet when my breakfast arrived that’s exactly what I got! Cooked to perfection and magically delicious! Mike was equally pleased with his breakfast bowl (scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, Cabot cheddar, and a Sriracha drizzle on top.)

It was a beautiful morning and a great way to start off our Sunday! I highly encourage you to visit The Bridge’s website to book a reservation for Sunday brunch. When you arrive be sure to let them know that Out and About Allie sent you.
