Each year I look forward to making a Christmas arrangement at Stonington Gardens, LLC in Mystic, CT, a family owned landscape and garden center. With guidance from the lovely ladies that work there we learn how to create unique centerpieces to enjoy throughout the holidays. An assortment of fresh greens, bows, decorative pics and glittering twigs are provided and give each one it’s own style.
Although each year my arrangement is different they all end up quite similar (funny how that happens.) It takes me about an hour to create my masterpiece, yet some ladies finish in half the time. It’s always fun to see the shapes and sizes of all the arrangements when everyone is done.
Stonington Gardens, LLC also offers wreath classes throughout the holidays and if you don’t feel up to making your wreath, kissing ball or arrangement they have plenty for sale, in addition to fresh cut Christmas trees.
Be sure to stop in the gift shop and pick up a one of a kind gift for that special someone. Last year I couldn’t resist the adorable little air plants so they made several for me to give to my staff. They were a big hit! Tonight I brought mine in for a fresh new look and had them fill in with a few new plants.
