It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen my “Sugar” friends so Friday night after a long work week and very little energy Mike and I dragged ourselves to The Knickerbocker Cafe in Westerly to say hello.
As soon as we walked in we immediately felt the excitement and energy in the room. Sugar’s upbeat, dance party music had everyone dancing and singing along. Within minutes my friends and I were on the dance floor trying to keep up with Talia and Marcy, an impossible feat for sure yet we gave it our best shot!
The band, a group of eight very talented musicians, can be found throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island performing at local venues, fundraisers, weddings and private events along with their multi-generational fan base. On a night when Sugar is not out sharing their infectious energy on stage you can catch many of the members in other bands, duos and solo acoustic shows.
Check out the schedule on their web page and follow them on Facebook then gather some friends, put on your dancing shoes and go catch a gig. It’s always a fun time when Sugar is in the house.
